my name is noah. i am from philadelphia and am thrilled to bring you bui’s bbq.

 

though bui's bbq launched in july 2025, i have been meat-curious for much longer than that. i started smoking meats when i was around 13 years old, after i ate my first rack of smoked baby back ribs. it was the best thing i had eaten in my life and so i dedicated myself to being able to replicate it. after getting a hand-me-down smoker, i spent my spare time working to create a rub and sauce, and refine a bbq technique. after the first, barely-edible year, people began to ask me to cook for them, and i would cater for friends and family throughout high school and into college.

 

after graduating, i worked in tech and consulting - but never stopped smoking. i catered weddings, cooked for small groups and events, and put on two pop-ups - with a team - for 200+ people, selling out in hours. now, after 10 years working corporate jobs, i'm returning to what i love to do: bbq. at bui’s bbq, we want to provide food for folks that they can eat around the table with friends and family. nothing fancy. no crazy equipment. just simple, good food.

and why the name bui’s bbq? bui’s was the best food truck in philadelphia, and recently closed after 35+ years of business. in college i would go 3-6 times per week, and it was the gathering spot for my friends and me. after i moved, it was the first place i would go when i got back to philly. buis was the best because they were straightforward and simple. the food was the best because of endless practice, experience, and love. i hope to honor bui’s by bringing the same passion, love, and care to you and the people you care about (via bbq).
